Obituary of Clifford Blackadar

Clifford Eldridge Blackadar 91, of Wentzell Lake, passed away Sunday May 15, 2005 at home. Born in Clementsvale, Annapolis County, he was the son of the late Frank and Sadie (Wagner) Blackadar. He was a member of Acacia Lodge in Bridgewater. He retired as Highways Superintendent of Lunenburg County. He also was a founding member of Bridgewater Farmers Cooperative where he served for a period of time as its General Manager. He is survived by a son Harold (Susan) Blackadar, Oakville Ont.; daughter Inez (Dennis) Williams, Wentzell Lake; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters Alma (Gordon) DeLong, Port Williams; Vera Joudrey, New Canada. He was predeceased by his wife Leilah Cecelia (Hirtle); and a brother Raymond. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7-9 pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday in New West Pine United Church, Pinehurst, with Rev. Joan Conrad officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, New Canada. Family flowers only.
