Obituary of Eleanor Carey

Eleanor Mary Carey Due to the winter storm on the 16/17 of January the memorial service for Eleanor has been changed to Tuesday 18 January at 11am, same location. 79, of Bridgewater, formerly of Voglers Cove, Lunenburg County, passed away January 14, 2005 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Voglers Cove, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Cassie (Nauss) Lohnes. She was a veteran of the Second World War serving with the Canadian Women’s Army Corp. in Montreal and Kitchener. She is survived by her husband, Paul; daughters, Beverly (Richard) Zwicker, Italy Cross; Janet (Greg) MacNeil, Greenwood; sons, Norman (Lynn), Terrace, B.C.; Leonard (Brenda), Webster, N.Y., USA; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Kathleen Teal, Bridgewater; brothers, Everdeen (Myrtle) Lohnes, Coldbrook; Ralston (Florence) Lohnes, Voglers Cove. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Meaghan Carey. There will be no flowers or visitation by request. A memorial service will be held 11am Monday in Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater. Burial will be held in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Voglers Cove at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Maple Hill Cemetery Fund, Voglers Cove or the charity of your choice.
