Obituary of Stetson Edison Holmes

of Stetson Edison Holmes 85 of Pentz, Lunenburg County, passed away Thursday March 20th, 2008 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Glace Bay he was the son of the late Parker and Mary (Ferguson) Holmes and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Stetson was a veteran of World War 2 having served with the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps from 1939 to 1945. He was a Life member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24, Bridgewater and a member of St. Patrick’s Chapter 145 GRC Royal Arch Masons Lodge in Ontario. He is survived by his wife Jean and dear friends Bella Smith and Larry Spasuk of Ontario. Stetson was predeceased by both his parents; brothers Douglas, Donald and Fred; sister Catherine. Visitation will be held 6 to 7pm at Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater Tuesday March 25 followed by a public Legion tribute at 7pm, Fr. Robert Coote Officiating. Cremation will follow and a private family internment of ashes will take place at a later date. Family flowers only, please.
