61, Of Bridgewater, passed away suddenly at home, Wednesday August 20th 2008. Judi was born on August 1st 1947, in Saint John, New Brunswick. She was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Patricia D. (nee Matthews) Stewart. Judi followed her love of teaching from public schools to Sir Fredrick Fraser (School for the Visually Impaired), APSEA and also taught at Mount Saint Vincent University. With a degree from Teachers’ College (Truro, NS) and a Masters Degree (Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, NS), Judi inspired and motivated her students throughout her successful and rewarding career. She was avidly involved in both the Halifax and Bridgewater communities. Her love of reading led to membership in several book clubs. She was also involved in various community groups. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister grandmother, auntie and friend. Judi’s spirit and love of life will be dearly missed by husband Erwin Turner (Bridgewater); children Christopher (Sonja) Johnson, Jamie (Yuka) Johnson, stepson Danny (Fiona) Turner, stepdaughter Heidi (Kevin) James; sisters Pam Stewart, Tricia Stewart and Carol O’Neil; brothers David (Linda) Stewart and Andrew (Sharon) Stewart; grandchildren Jeremy Budden, Rhys and Erin Wright-Turner, Rebecca, Kady-May and Liam James; nieces and nephews, Katie and Rob Mosher, Lisa and Megan Howell; Pamela Alexander, Heather McQuillan and James Gunn.There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request. A memorial service will be held at Sweeny’s Funeral Home, York Street, Bridgewater, on Tuesday August 26th 2008 at 11 am, with Rev. Robert Coote officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. There will be a reception to follow at the Fairview Inn, Queen Street, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rosanne Himmelman Fund.
