Obituary of Basil Deamond
Basil Charles Deamond 85, of New Germany, Lunenburg County, passed away September 25, 2005 at the Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany. Born in Simpson’s Corner, he was the son of the late Hamilton and Lois (Zwicker) Deamond. Basil was a veteran of World War 2 and a member of the New Germany branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. He is survived by his sisters, Edith MacDonald, New Brunswick; Grace Wile, New Germany and Margaret Leary of Simpson’s Corner. He was predeceased by his brother Guy and 2 sisters, Ada Zinck Beatrice Veinot and Ruth Durling. Visitation will be held Monday 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany with a public legion tribute service being held at 7pm and from where the funeral service will be held 11am Tuesday, Rev. Catherine Robar officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside cemetery, Simpson’s Corner. Family flowers only.
