Obituary of George Hacquoil

George Hacquoil 62, of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully on November 15,2005 surrounded by family. He was the son of the late Ellen (Nellie) Warren and grandson of the late William and Hanna Hacquoil. Born in Pool’s Cove Newfoundland, George spent most of his career on the sea with the Canadian Coast Guard and National Sea Products. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and beloved cat Sassy; playing the guitar and woodworking. He also contributed to his community as a member of the Bridgewater Lions Club. George is survived by his loving wife Goldie (Veinotte) and children Bill (Martine), Brian (Marilyn), Mary Ann (David), Danny (Robin), Susan (Richard) and Judy. He will also be missed by grandchildren David, Dale and Jonathan; great grandson Morgan; and siblings Brian, Cyril, Tom (Hacquoil) and Tom (Williams), Ellen, Wilson and Steve. George was predeceased by his first wife Winnifred (Savoury) and brother Donald.Visitation will be held 2-4 Thursday and a memorial service will be held 11am Friday in both in Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater, with Rev. Robert Zinck officiating. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Clearland. No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Shore Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, Bridgewater Lions Club, or to The Lodge That Gives.
