Obituary of Leonard Harvey

Leonard Leslie "Les" Harvey 57, New Germany, passed away, Friday, January 21, 2005 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Millvale, he was a son of the late Leonard and Celetus (Ripley) Harvey. He has been a scallop fisherman for the past 33 years, currently working out of Riverport. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 102, New Germany; member of the Central Nova ATV 4 wheelers club; and was an avid nascar fan, always rooting for the number one man, #24 Jeff Gordon. Surviving are his wife, the former Deborah Connolly; daughters, Patty Harvey, Shelburne; Stacey Harvey-Daniels (Jamie), Bridgewater; step daughters, Joy Daniels, Toronto; Charlene Brooks (Shane), Dartmouth; Dawn Daniels (Kirk), New Germany. Sisters, Daisy (Robert) Eisbrenner, Ontario; Inez (Cecil) Allen, Salisbury, NB; Ruby Noye, St. Eleanor’s, PEI. Brothers, Leonard (Myrtle) Harvey, PEI; Leon Harvey, Halifax. Nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Myrtle Noye. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany, where a legion tribute service will be at 6:30 p.m. Funeral 11 a.m. Wednesday in Epworth United Church, New Germany. Rev. Joan Conrad officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial at a later date. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
