Obituary of Basil Joudrey

Basil Levi Joudrey 87, Upper Northfield, Lunenburg Co. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Basil Levi Joudrey on Thursday, June 9, 2005. He passed away peacefully in South Shore Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Upper Northfield, he was a son of the late Stephen and Ella (Ramey) Joudrey. He was a faithful lifelong member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Upper Northfield. In his early years, Basil was a woods worker. He later became a talented carpenter and has left behind a large collection of woodworking for his family and friends to enjoy. Basil loved farming, but his greatest love was for his family. Friends and family will remember him for his kindness and his generosity. Surviving are his wife, the former Phyllis Lohnes; sons, Stephen (Joan), James (Gail), all of Upper Northfield; daughters, Gail (Gerald) Langille, Beaver Bank; Olive Joudrey, Bridgewater; Krystal (Curtis) Snyder, Conquerall Bank; grandchildren, Steven (Kim), Jonathan (Nadia), Sarah, Tosha (Brandon), Daniel and Isaac; great-grandchildren, Claire and Jillian; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Clyde, Charles, Harris, Aubrey, Mark; sisters, Olive, Myrtle and Ruth. A special thank you to Jennifer Lowe, his caregiver. At Dad's request, there will be no visitation in the funeral home. Memorial service 3 p.m. Monday in Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Upper Northfield, Rev. WilliamGustafson officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church or charity of choice.
