Obituary of Earl Maughn

Earl Douglas Maughan 79, Of Lower Branch, formerly of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2005 at Islandview Terrace, Digby. Born on June 7, 1926 in Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Gordon and Marie (Hubley) Maughan. He was a veteran of the Second World War and was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, branch 24, Bridgewater. Surviving are his brothers, Walter (Elsie), Lower Branch; Clarence, Waterloo; Leo, Bridgewater. He is also survived by close family members, nephew, Vernon (Monica and Erin), Lower Branch; nieces, Gail (Nicole, Rachel, Colby), Lower Branch; Anna (Tyler), Hebbville; great nephew, Cory, Lower Branch; several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife the former, Merinda Whynot; brothers, Willis, Wallace, Fred, Leaman; nephew, Gordon. Visitation 7 -9 p.m. Sunday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater with a public legion tribute at 7 p.m. and where funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday. Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Burial in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or charity of choice.
