Dorothy Pearl Morton 85, New Germany, Lunenburg Co., passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at her home in the company of her caregivers, Randy and Teresa Oickle. She was the daughter of the late Douglas and Verna (Barkhouse) Lonergan. Dorothy taught school in Kings and Lunenburg counties for 35 years. She was a member of St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany where she was a member of the former ACW and also served on various other committees. She was actively involved in many community organizations. She was the loving mother of Wayne (Joan), Kentville; John, Halifax. Grandmother of Julie Ann, Halifax; sister, Sylvia Lonergan, Bridgewater and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Donald; sister, Maxine and brother, Laurence. Visitation Friday 7 to 9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10,New Germany. Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday in St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany. Rev. Tom Henderson officiating. Private family burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church or New Germany and Area Medical Centre.
