Obituary of Madelyn Mosher

Madelyn Myrtle Mosher

78, New Germany, passed away on April 15, 2005 at Rosedale Home for Special Care surrounded by the family she loved.

After traveling a long hard road with Alzheimer disease, she will now enjoy being in the presence of relatives and friends whom she hasn’t seen for a long time and meeting her Savior face to face. What a grand reunion that will be. Heaven knows no tears or pain and we the family left behind take great comfort in this. As a younger woman she worked as s stenographer in Halifax and was remembered to be very efficient in her duties.

She spent the majority of her life in her community of New Germany. She was an active member of Epworth United Church, involved in various aspects of church life. She spent a great deal of time baking to support other organizations within her community. Madelyn enjoyed making people feel at home and many in the community have experienced sitting in the kitchen and having some dessert served fresh from the oven. Madelyn knew how to make a house a home. She knew that the recipe for a home included ingredients of music, flowers, laughter, tears, faith and love. Not to be forgotten would be the spring and fall cleaning (smile). As her family we were blessed to have her and only wish that others could be as fortunate as we were to have a wife and mother like her. She will be sadly missed.

Madelyn was born in Parkdale, she was the daughter of the late Stewart and Dorothy (Wentzell) Rafuse.

Surviving are her husband, Bliss of 56 years. Sons, Wayne (Marjorie), Parkdale; Barry (Anna), Hebbville; Kenneth, LaHave Manor, Dayspring and daughter, Tena, Truro. Sister, Margaret (Sherman) Hiltz, Bramalea, Ontario. Grandchildren, Crystal, Adam and Tracey.

She was predeceased by her brother, Wynn. Cremation has taken place with a private family interment in Epworth Cemetery, New Germany.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday in Epworth United Church, New Germany. Rev. Joan Conrad officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rosedale Home for Special Care Resident’s Council, Epworth United Church or The ARK Industries, Bridgewater.
