Obituary of Lemuel MacKay

Lemuel Joshua MacKay 85, of Wentzell Lake, Lunenburg County, passed away February 11, 2005, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Union Square, he was a son of the late Angus and Olivia (Silver) MacKay. He was a veteran of the Second World War having served overseas. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 102, New Germany. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite (MacKay); daughter, Joanne Fancey, Upper Northfield; granddaughter, Jennifer (St. Clair) Joudrey, Upper Northfield; sister, Greta (Eric) Dorey, Pinehurst. He was predeceased by 4 brothers, Laurie, William, Ira, Clarence. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4pm, with a public legion tribute service being held at 2pm, all in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 11am Monday in Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Upper Northfield, Rev. William Gustafson officiating. Private family burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, Upper Northfield. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to the N. S. Diabetic Association or Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be made at www.sweenysfuneralhome.com
