of Joseph Roland Maurice "Shorty" Lecuyer A Service of Celebration will be held from 1 – 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2008 in Springfield Fire Hall, Springfield. 71, Springfield, Anna. Co., passed away on Monday, September 1, 2008 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Maxville, Ontario, he was a son of the late Fred and Laura Lecuyer. He was a retired veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force having served for 33 years; honorary member of Springfield Volunteer Fire Department and was a lover of bluegrass music. Surviving are his wife, the former, Ruth Pauline Cotton; daughters, Patti (Pete) Nelson, Scotland; Carol (Ray) McKee, Dartmouth; son, Paul, Springfield; grandchildren, Gregor, Madi, Matt and Alex; brother, Laurier (Madelaine) Lecuyer, Ottawa; mother in law, Luella Cotton, Summerside, PEI; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, “Bud”; father in law, Lawson Cotton. No visitation at the funeral home by request. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Private family interment will take place in Summerside; No flowers by request, donations may be made to the charity of choice.
