of Florrie M. Little 91, Of Bridgewater passed away August 14, 2008 in Shoreham Village, Chester. She was the daughter of the late David Joseph and Gertrude (Verge) Little. Surviving her are her son Tim; dogs Oliver & Brandi; sisters Evelyn (Charles) Cameron, Digby; Vallie “Queen” Walker; Vaughn “Honny” (Gilbert) Langille all of Bridgewater; Donna (Lowell) Acker, Toronto; brother Lloyd, Ontario; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by sisters Avenell and Olive; brothers Harold, Doug, Everett, Allen and David. Mom was born in Halifax in March 23, 1917. She survived the Halifax explosion having the top of her baby carriage torn off. The family moved to Bridgewater in 1927 where her father opened a flower shop. She spent her life working in and around the flower shop and greenhouses. She enjoyed people and talking to them. She was involved with the SSTA, was president of the Bridgewater Historical Society and loved to organize the Heritage Balls that she so enjoyed. Mom loved to travel she talked about her Hawaii and BC Bouchard Gardens trip. Her trip to Florida where she visited many relatives and dear friends, and looked at all the flowers and plants she could. Many a day you would find mom and her dog Walter asleep on the couch together, she loved her dog. Mom enjoyed the last three years of her earthly life at Shoreham Village surrounded by the angels (staff) whom she loved, and they loved her. It was truly heaven on earth for her. If mom was to say one thing to you it would be, hug the ones you love more often. Please join me in remembering my mom at Sweeny’s Funeral Home in a way that feels loving to you, whether it is with flowers, a card or note, a funny story or a hug. Visitation will be held 7 to 9 PM Monday 18 August at Sweeny’s Funeral Home Bridgewater and from where the service will be held 2 PM Tuesday 19 August, Rev Dan Green officiating. We will gather after the service at 269 York Street for some refreshments and lots of conversation. See you there, Tim. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com
