Preston LeRor Ross
Ross, Preston LeRoy, 83, of Bridgewater, formerly of Pentz, Lunenburg County, passed away November 19, 2005 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Middle LaHave, he was a son of the late Alexander and Mary (Richards) Ross. He was a veteran of the Second World War and was a POW for four and a half years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24 in Bridgewater. He was employed by the M V Bluenose as an engineer for 27 years until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, the former Shirley Sperry; son, David (Doreen), Halifax; daughter, Diane (Stephen) Pineo, Mississauga, Ont.; a grandson, Alekzander Pineo, Mississauga, Ont.; brother, Chester, Middle LaHave; sisters, Marguerite Parks, Pictou; Mary Hopkins, Halifax. He was predeceased by a sister, Emily Lohnes. A public graveside service will be held 1:30pm Tuesday in the Brookside Cemetery, West Dublin, Rev Laurence Mawhinney officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request. No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the N. S. Lung Association, Knox Presbyterian Church, Dublin Shore or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater.
