Obituary of Ethel Stevens

Ethel Roberta Stevens 82, of Bridgewater, N.S., died Monday, September 5, 2005 in Harbour View Haven Nursing Home, Lunenburg. Born in Canard, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Howard and Alice (Brechin) Harris. She was a graduate of K.C.A., and later, a graduate of Mack Business College, Kentville. Following that, she was employed as a legal secretary in Kentville for three years. In later life, she worked in her husband’s insurance office in Berwick for a number of years. Surviving are two sons, Donald and James, both of Florida and a daughter, Christine of Bridgewater. She was predeceased by her husband James; brother, Charles; two sisters, Mildred and Jean, also a son in infancy. The body has been cremated. At the request of the deceased, there will be no funeral or memorial service. A private family committal service will be held at a later date in Brookside Cemetery for immediate family and their spouses. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shaid Animal Shelter, 450 LaHave Street, Unit 17, Suite 138, Bridgewater, NS, B4V 4A3.
