Obituary of Evan Nauss

Evan Arthur Nauss 80, of Middlewood, Lunenburg County, passed away July 18, 2001 in the Veterans Unit of the F. M. Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Blockhouse, he was a son of the late Arthur and Rosetta (Nowe) Nauss. He enlisted in the Armed Forces August 4, 1941 in Bridgewater, N.S. He served overseas in the United Kingdom and Central Mediterranean area. He was honourably discharged in 1945. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 24 in Bridgewater. He is survived by his wife Ida (Lopez); brothers, Reginald, Conquerall Mills; Donald, Petite Riviere; John, Simms Settlement; sisters, Frances Lonergan, Bridgewater; Mildred Stewart, Hebbs Cross. He was predeceased by a son Terry; brothers, Isaac, Ralph, LeRoy, Maurice and a sister Florence. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm, with a public legion tribute service being held 7pm, all in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday in the Ascension Lutheran Church, Conquerall Mills, Rev David Whynot officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church, Conquerall Mills, Calvary Lutheran Church, Middlewood, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice.
