Obituary of Hazel Wright

Hazel Bernice Wright 72, Of New Germany, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2005 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in New Germany, she was a daughter of the late Obediah and Louise (Fancy) Varner. Prior to retirement, Hazel was active in the family business, M. Wright Farm and Forest and was also a Girl Guide Leader for Brownies for many years in New Germany. Surviving are her daughters, Patricia (Jeff) Wentzell, Upper Branch; Ann (Tom) Gummeson, New Germany. Son, Matthew (Robin Hall), New Germany. Grandchildren, Sarah and Sam Wentzell; Adam and Rachel Gummeson. Sisters, Helen Sleep, Lucy Gunn and Muriel Hicks, all of New Germany. Several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Merlyn; sister, Gladys Tipert, brother, Robert Varner; half sister, Hilda MacKay, half brother, Emerson Lowe. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Graveside memorial service 2 p.m. Thursday in Epworth United Church Cemetery, School Street, New Germany.
