Obituary of Edward Zwicker

Edward Parker Zwicker 91, New Germany, Lunenburg Co., passed away Monday, July 4, 2005 at home. Born in New Germany he was a son of the late Twining and Carrie (Parker) Zwicker. Edward was a linesman for Nova Scotia Power prior to being co-owner and operator of Zwicker Brothers Box Factory in New Germany. After closing the mill, he continued to be self employed as an electrical contractor until retiring at the age of 80. Edward was a member of the Lunenburg County Amateur Radio Club and has continued to be active on air as VE1AOQ . He was a past fire chief and member of the New Germany Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are his daughters, Carol Ann (George) Fancey, Middleton; Pamela Jean Zwicker (Joseph McDonald), New Germany; son, Edward Parker Zwicker Jr. (Marie), Miramichi, NB. Brother, George, New Germany; sister, Doris (William) Phillips, Armdale. Grandchildren, Teena, Todd, Timothy; Kevin, Larry; Michael, Brian, several great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Pauline Marie MacKay; sister, Joan Corkum. Visitation will be 7 – 9 p.m. Tuesday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany.
