Obituary of Ernest Beck

Ernest Calvin Beck 92, of Cookville, formerly of Upper Branch, Lunenburg County, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2006 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Upper Branch on October 20, 1913 he was the son of the late Dennis and Minnie (Crouse) Beck. Ernest served overseas from 1942 – 1945. He worked the remainder of his life as a farmer on his family land and also at the Pinehurst Box Factory. Ernest was predeceased by his wife, the former Bernardine Mader; grandson, Dwayne Beck. He is survived by children, Melvin (Sandra), Whynotts Settlement; Jean (Gary) Young, Dayspring. Grandchildren, Michelle (Lee), Tracei (Peter), Jamie and Lindsey; his brother, Willis (Ruth); sister, Kathleen Oickle; several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation by request of the family. Funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday at the New West Pine United Church, Pinehurst. Rev. Joan Conrad officiating. Burial in Lone Pine Cemetery, Upper Branch.
