Obituary of Dorothy Cook

Dorothy Grace Cook 95, of Bridgewater, formerly of Rhodes Corner, Lunenburg County, passed away May 23, 2006 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born, April 25, 1911 in Cookville, she was a daughter of the late George and Zilpha (Langille) Hirtle. Dorothy leaves to mourn her daughter, Karen Cook, Bridgewater, with whom she resided and her extended family of loving and devoted friends. She is also survived by step-sister, Kathleen Robertson, Liverpool; half-sisters, Nina Woodworth, Chelsea; Shirley Woodworth, Cookville; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Leo Cook, infant son, brother, Maxwell Hirtle, sister, Mildred Burns, step-mother, Mary Hirtle, half-sister, Melrose, half-brother, Basil, step-brother, Arnold Smith. Visitation will be held Friday from 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday in St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Rhodes Corner, Rev. Heather Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Matthews Cemetery, Upper LaHave. Flowers accepted. Memorial donations may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Rhodes Corner, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bridgewater or the South Shore Regional Library, Bridgewater.
