She worked for Stedman’s for many years and then at Bowl-More Lanes for over 25 years. She was a member of Bridgewater United Church and for many years volunteered her culinary talents with the Hebbville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband Arnold Croft; sister Peggy Crisell (England); niece Sara Crisell. She is survived by her son Robert and his wife Judi, Crousetown, granddaughter Julianne (Heim) and husband Mike, Bridgewater, great- granddaughter Abigayle, great-grandson Gabe, a niece Suzanne and nephew Robert, England. Freda will always be remembered for her zest for life, her cheerfulness, the delightful food she so generously prepared and shared and for the countless cups of tea and good times she shared with family and friends in her kitchen. She will be greatly missed by her extended family and her multitude of close friends. A graveside committal service will be held 11am Tuesday in the Hebbville Cemetery, Rev Ivan Norton officiating. At Freda’s request there will be no visitation or flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bridgewater United Church or South Shore Regional Hospital. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater where online condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com. The family wishes to acknowledge the kindness and caring given by the staff and Dr. Johnson to Freda during her short stay at South Shore Regional Hospital. When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom filled room Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little - but not too longAnd not with your head bowed low Remember the love that we once sharedMiss me -- but let me go.
