Obituary of Edward Matthew Meisner

of Edward Matthew Meisner 93, New Germany, Lunenburg County, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2008 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Tremont, he was a son of the late Austin and Charlotte (Beals) Meisner. He was a “D-Day” veteran of the Second World War, having served overseas with the Royal Canadian Artillery; he is a 50 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 102, New Germany. Surviving are his wife the former, D. Edna Anthony; daughters, Dianne (Doris) Fava, Richmond Hill, Ont; Kathleen Flynn, Ellershouse; sons, Lawrence (Linda), Napanee, Ont; Arnold (Sheila), Upper Stewiacke; sister, Pauline Morse, Wilmot; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, Michael; brothers, Edmond, William; sister, Lillian Gaul. No visitation at the funeral home by request. A public graveside service will be conducted by the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 102 at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Barss Corner Community Cemetery, Barss Corner. No flowers by request, donations may be made to VON Lunenburg County branch, Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund or charity of choice.
