Philip Reginald Jodrey
Age 80 of Watford, Lunenburg County, passed away peacefully with his family at his side March 4, 2006 at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown after a brief stay. Born in Watford, he was a son of the late Theophilous and Edna (Whynot) Jodrey.
He was a farmer and a trucker for most of his life, retiring as a Foreman with the Nova Scotia Department of Highways. He was a member of the Anglican Church and enjoyed spending his time with family and camping; he also enjoyed helping his neighbors whether it was with a little carpentry or helping paint a house.
Philip is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Muriel “Kitty” (Croft); Daughter Ronna Meisner (Aubrey Conrad), Simpson Corner; Son Errol (Ann), Victoria B.C.; Sisters, Minnie Veinot, Winnipeg Man.; Phyllis (Atwood) Meisner, New Germany; Grandchildren, Denette Meisner (Mason MacLeod), Newcombville; Natalie (Joe) Sawlor, Pinehurst; Sean and Kelly Jodrey, Victoria B.C.; Great grandchildren Matthew and William Sawlor of Pinehurst and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Russell, Clarence, Lorraine and Bruce. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany.
There will be private family graveside service at Barss Corner Community Cemetery, Rev. Catherine Robar officiating. Family flowers only please, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or the charity of choice.
