Obituary of Charles Ley

Charles Thomas Ley Of Bridgewater, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006 at the Q E II Health Sciences Center, Halifax. Born June 28, 1935 in Sydney, NS, Charlie was the son of the late Thomas and Leoncie (Doublett) Ley. Retired from Michelin Tire Canada, he devoted much of his spare time to the Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus and the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets and was recognized by the Province of Nova Scotia for his "Exceptional Volunteer Service". Charlie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Yvonne (Girardin) and his 8 children: Charles (Joyce); Donald (Susan); Peter (Alison); Yvonne (Walter Wolfe); Susan; Robert (Michelle); James (Jean); Joel MacLean (Norma) and his 19 grandchildren – Thomas, Robyn Pitre; Zoa, Trisha, Monika, Jarman; Crystal, Elizabeth, Catherine, Jordan; Jennifer, Jaime, Julie Wolfe; Ryan, Nicole; Felicia, Terrance, Colby; Christopher MacLean; 2 sisters, Angela MacLean, Rita Blois. Predeceased by a son, Thomas Francis and sister Susan Wall. Resting at Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Visitation on Wednesday, March 1 from 7-9 p.m. with prayers being offered at 8:30pm. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 2 at Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Msgr William Wamboldt officiating. Interment following at Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association (Lunenburg County Branch) or the Nova Scotia Kidney Foundation.
