Obituary of Robert McCarthy

Robert Earl McCarthy Jr. 73, Bridgewater, passed away December 4, 2006 in that South Shore Regional Hospital. Robert was born October 19, 1933, in Bridgewater and was the son of the late Robert Earl and Edna (Tompkins) McCarthy Sr. He was a valued employee of Nauss Brothers for 45 years. He was an exceptional woods craftsmen, spending his retirement years creating everything from birdhouses to furniture. He was loved and will be sadly missed by his friends and family. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathleen (Weagle) McCarthy; his 9 children; his 14 grandchildren and his sister Barbara (Arnold) Weagle. He was predeceased by his 2 sisters Margaret McCarthy and Betty Beeler, and his brother Douglas McCarthy. A memorial service will be held 11am Wednesdsay in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, Rev Paul Jensen officiating. A private family burial will be in the Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. No flowers or visitation by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Diabetic Association of Nova Scotia or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
