Obituary of Joyce McCoombs

Joyce Elaine McCoombs 80 - Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed away April 21 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born November 10, 1925 in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Gladys (Foley) Watkins-Boudreau and the late Leonard Watkins. She was a lifetime member of the United Baptist Church Bridgewater and a member of Group 2. Joyce had several careers which included working for MT&T, Canada Manpower and Sears Canada. She loved to read and was a volunteer with the Bridgewater Library as well as one of their most frequent visitors. In later years to keep busy Joyce took up crafts and could be found at local craft shows several times a year. She was a loving wife, mother & grandmother and will be surely missed. She is survived by her husband of 51 years Walter (Mac) McCoombs Bridgewater; daughter, Nancy (Gerald) Dagley, Wileville; grandchildren, Matthew (Brittany) Halifax, Christy, Wileville; brothers, Jack (Winnie) Boudreau, Michigan; Jim (Ellen) Florida, several Nieces and Nephews. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, April 25 at the United Baptist Church Bridgewater, Rev. Eric Campbell officiating. Interment of ashes will be at the Brookside Cemetery Bridgewater. A reception will follow at the United Baptist Church. Donations may be made to the South Shore Regional Library, Bridgewater United Baptist Church Bridgewater or the Canadian Cancer Society.
