88, New Germany, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Monday, September 22, 2008 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Scarsdale, he was a son of the late William and Enola (Zwicker) Mossman. He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served overseas with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corp. He is a 60 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 102, New Germany; Member of Pine Grove IOOF Lodge No. 111, New Germany; member of Epworth United Church. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Goldie A (Lohnes). Daughters, Sharilyn Mossman, Halifax; Joanne (Glenn) DeMone, Scarsdale. Sons, Mervyn (Donna), New Germany; Allister (Diana), Cookville; Ronald (Judy), Alberta; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sisters, Meletia Tanner, First South; Hildred (Ted) Sanford, Woodville. He was predeceased by sister, Phyllis O’Neil. Visitation 7 – 9 p.m. Friday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday in Epworth United Church, New Germany. Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. Interment at a later date in Epworth Cemetery. No flowers by request, donations may be made to Epworth United Church, Parkdale Maplewood Baptist Church Cenotaph Fund or South Shore Regional Hospital.
