Obituary of Arthur Reid

Arthur Eldridge Reid 81, of Bridgewater, passed away September 28, 2006 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in East Line Station, N.S., he was the son of the late Tupper and May (Robertson) Reid. He served overseas during the Second World War. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24, Bridgewater; Past Master of Acacia Lodge #39 and a member of F.N.S.A. He also served 23 years with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and was a former teacher at the N. S. Community College in Bridgewater. He is survived by long time companion, Freda Mailman, Bridgewater; sons, Bruce (Marie), Lower Branch; Barry (Wanda), Hebbville; daughters, Arla, (Daniel) Rafuse, Whynotts Settlement; Gayle (Ken) Gardner, Calgary, Alberta; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Irene Salter. A private family graveside service will be held in the Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater, Rev Ivan Norton officiating. No flowers or visitation by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
