Obituary of Sophie Ritcey

Sophie Ritcey (Kentville,Bridgewater) Beloved wife of the late Murray Ritcey passed away at Evergreen Home for Special Care on March 27, 2006. Born Sept 26, 1912 in Burgeo, NF she is survived by daughters Nina Toler, Greensboro, NC, Anne (Richard) Clattenburg, Kentville, Gretchen (Brien) Dolan, Campbell River, BC, son Fred, Vancouver, BC, nine grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughter Joan and son Donald. Sophie will fondly be remembered for her love and dedication to family, friends, church and her wonderful sense of style, especially the colourful hair bows and her love of art. A graveside service, to be announced, will take place at Shepherd’s Hill Cemetery, Riverport, later in the spring. If desired, according to Sophie’s wishes memorial donations may be made to Evergreen Home for Special Care - Resident’s Society, 655 Park St, Kentville, NS, B4N 3V7. A public graveside service will be held at Shepherd’s Hill Cemetery, Riverport, Sat., May 13 at 11 a.m., Rev. Ivan Norton, Bridgewater United Church officiating. Following internment, Nina, Anne and Gretchen invite family and friends to a celebration of life reception at the Fairview Inn, 25 Queen St., Bridgewater, noon until 3 p.m.
