Obituary of Shirley Sliver

Shirley Jane Silver 72, Watford, Lunenburg County, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2006 in Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Stanburne, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Ethel (Brown) Langille. Shirley was a retired school teacher, having taught in the one room schoolhouses in Pinehurst, Hemford and Simpsons Corner, and also at the former New Germany High School. She was a member of Epworth United Church, New Germany; and was an active Avon sales representative in her area for many years. Surviving are her daughter, Janet Silver (James MacDonald), Washington; Alton (Debbie), Watford; George (Peggy Hyson), Bridgewater; David (Heidi Mansfield), New Germany; Wayne (Jesse), Watford; grandchildren, Jack, Peter, Brittany, Maggie, Annabelle, Nathan; half sister, Beatrice Barber, Michigan; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Lorraine Edwin; brother, Arnold Langille and several other brothers and sisters. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Monday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday in Epworth United Church. Rev. Joan Conrad officiating. Private family burial in Barss Corner Community Cemetery. Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Canadian Cancer Society, Barss Corner Community Cemetery, Epworth United Church.
