Obituary of Sara Gibb

Sara Margaret Gibb 91, of Bridgewater passed away on 24 February, 2007 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Milford Station on 19 May, 1915 she was a daughter of the late Sara Ann (MacKinnon) and John D. Carroll. Sara was a former employee of the Halifax Infirmary, and in her earlier years she was a waitress at Pete’s Snack Bar in Bedford. She is survived by her daughter Lorna Roy, Bridgewater, son Ernie Elliott of Edmonton, Alberta; sister Dorothy (Al) Blanchley, Toronto; 6 grandchildren Debbie, Barry, Wanda, Cheryl, Angela and Cindy; 12 great grandchildren Shannon, Carrie, Paula, Cody, Holly, Brittain, Joshua, Olivia, Alyse, Darla, Nicholas and Sara; 5 great-great grandchildren several nieces and nephews. Sara was predeceased by her first husband Garnett L. Elliot in 1963 and then her second husband Arthur Gibb in 1991; daughter Phyllis, son Russell, sisters Olive, Edith and Eva; brother Arthur Carroll; sons in law Graham Roy and Jamie Ross; daughter in law Dorothy. Cremation has taken place under the direction of C.F. Sweeny’s Funeral Home Bridgewater. A memorial service will be held 2 pm Thursday at the New Life Christian Church, Bridgewater, Pastor Jim McGinnis officiating. Flowers accepted memorial donations in Sara’s memory made to N.S.
