Obituary of Vivian Irene Rafuse

RAFUSE (McDow), Vivian Irene – 83, Parkdale. It is with sadness that the family of the late Vivian Irene (McDow) Rafuse, announce her passing on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, with family by her side. She was born to the late Harry and Clara (Keddy) McDow of New Ross. Vivian was a loving mother to Teresa (Larry) Keddy, Monica (Vernon) Maughan, Glenn (Karan) Rafuse, Craig (Wendy) Rafuse and Chris Rafuse. She dearly loved her grandchildren, Veronica Keddy, Leo (Krista) Keddy, Erin (Ryan) Dobson, Stephen (Jennifer) Rafuse, Gary Rafuse, Joel (Stephanie) Rafuse and Randall (Michelle) Rafuse. She cherished seeing her four great-grandchildren (Haley and Brooklyn Rafuse, Lincoln Keddy and Hunter Dobson). Vivian enjoyed visits from her nieces and nephews as well as sister, Emma McNally, and brothers, Basil and Waldo McDow plus her many in-laws. She was predeceased by husband, Roby (2007) as well as sisters, Thora and Marguerite and brothers Harold, Ray, Alton, Carl and Delbert McDow. Vivian was active within her community helping with many fundraising events at the Parkdale / Maplewood Community Hall and Museum where she often played the role of Aunt Dinah during community suppers. She was a member of the Parkdale / Maplewood Women’s Institute and spent much time helping others within her community. Some of her many passions were sewing, quilting and playing cards. Although she couldn’t taste, she made the most delicious peanut butter chocolate chip cookies which were craved by her grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3142 Barss Corner Road, Parkdale, Reverend Sam Jess officiating. No visitation by request. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkdale/Maplewood Cemetery, Emmanuel Baptist Church (Parkdale) or charity of choice. Family flowers only.
