Obituary of Peter Edwin Parker

of Peter Edwin Parker September 20th, 1951 – April 13th, 2008, of Pinehurst Lunenburg County. Peter was the only and much loved son of George Edwin and Nora Parker of Liverpool, Nova Scotia. He is survived by his wife, Cindy/Cynthia (Kennie), his children - the loves of his life – Stephanie, Luke and Paula. He is also survived by his sister, Joanne, brother in law, Walter Thompson, his niece, Emily, and his nephew, Matthew, as well as many, many friends who will miss him dearly. Peter always took joy in working with children from his early experience as a tennis instructor to his last days of driving his school bus in Lunenburg County. His dedication to the union associated with the workers for the South Shore Regional School Board was also a source of great satisfaction to him. He was a good friend to all and very special to his close friends. He was always happy to give a helping (and very capable) hand whenever the need arose. He had rekindled his love for golf in recent years and, when time permitted, took great pleasure in the family cottage in Port Joli. Donations in his memory may be made to the Cancer Society or to the IWK Children’s Hospital in Halifax. A service in Peter’s memory will be held at Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater on Thursday, April 17th, 2008 at 11 a.m. Family flowers only please. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
