Max was an amazing man. He was so positive when he and Neil were willing to build our house. At that time, we made up our own plans and sometimes things didn't work out. But Max was always there to lend us his good ideas , a smile and a song as he continued on with his work.A man who will be missed by many.

My heart weeps with you for dear, dear "Uncle" Max leaving on his next great journey. However, it also smiles knowing that he is joining my lovely and sweet "Aunt" Gladys to dance through enternity. My grandparents Earle Smith and Melva Woodworth Smith [Max's maternal aunt] gave me a great gift by including me in many of their annual trips "back home" to New Germany and Simpsons Corner where I fell into a life-long love with the whole Russell family. I will fondly remember Uncle Max's infectious smile, joie de vivre, and huge hugs and kisses...he made sure I knew I was welcomed and loved unconditionally. "We have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night." Gladys and Max are shining in the firmament; may we all bask in their loving starlight.

A candle, to light your way in these dark times. From our hearts to yours. May grief soon pass and turn into sweet memories. And so it will be. We are only a phone call away, a short journey over the road should you have need or desire for a hug and to share some wonderful memories.

Max's Family,
So sorry to hear of your loss. Always enjoyed talking with Max at the foot clinic - usually had a story to tell. My Robert travelled to the city with him when we first moved to this area many years ago.
Cherish all the memories you have of Max from the past.
My thoughts are there with all of you at this difficult time.
Sincerely,

Our family is dwindling away. So sorry I didn't see Max as often as I should have.
That doesn't mean he was not thought of by me, often.
I'm so proud he was part of our family, and so proud to be associated with him, even in a small way.
I will miss him.

We are so sorry Karl for the loss of your father and the way it went down.
Only God and your parents know the pain and hurt you are suffering.
Think of the good times you had with your parents. Your mom often spoke of the wonderful time
you showed them while in Vancouver.
We are here for you, Karl.
Jim and Shirley.
