I am so saddened today to read in the Dalhousie magazine of the passing of your dear mother and sister. In recent years I had failed in my attempts to contact Ethel. I had the wrong phone number. Ethel and my mother, Anita (Rosenblum) Dubinsky were dear friends and I had wanted to share that mom passed away 6 years ago. Several years ago, I was so fortunate to visit with Ethel here in Ottawa with her brother, Donald. I had many chuckles with Ethel, she was lovely, and lots of fun, and good medicine for my mother! Would Susan kindly email me. I would like to express my condolences more personally. My husband, Laurie, whose late mom, also grew up with Ethel, joins me in sending our warm regards and deepest sympathies on the passing of Ethel.

To the family, I hadn't seen Ethel in quite some time but I remember her well. Such a friendly, genuine and elegant lady. She and her husband Eldridge were so pleasant - I always felt better after a conversation with them. I know you have many wonderful memories of them both. Peace to you, Paul

We are very sorry to hear of Ethel's passing. We were all very happy when Uncle Eldie and Ethel "re-found" each other later in their lives and were able to spend many happy years together. Our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.

I have many fond memories of Ethel while camping as a young fella at Herman's Island and visiting her while she lived in Bridgewater. She was a great family friend and will be missed.
