Graham was my father Merrill's older brother . My father used to tell me that he liked the TV show The Walton's, because it reminded him of growing up at home in Buckfield, with a family of 9 kids, parents, grandparents, farmhand and housekeepers. Their life was centered around family, the farm and woodland and the family sawmill. Graham concurred and liked to reminisce about those days in the 30s, 40s and 50s - he talked about the family, the sawmill, the lumber camps, the men, the horses, the log booms in the lakes, hunting and guiding American sports.
Graham and I would often have good chats about the old days, the family, genealogy starting at the first Wile from Leutzellinden, Weilburg, Germany who came to NS in 1750, his career in the telecom industry, his projects in land development, politics of the day, and how things have changed today as young people have left the country and smaller towns for the cities in pursuit of education and opportunity.
Graham was a kind and pleasant man, well informed and knowledgeable. He was a good person who was supportive of family and cared about others. He will be missed.
We extend our sincere condolences to Jan, Graham Howard, Holly and Lorin.
