My Great Auntie Celia;
I have many regrets over hearing about your passing, and not being notified of it by my family members. I will always remember you. How you let me put some of my stuff in your basement over on Robie street. Then calling me eventually to say get your stuff out of my basement. I always enjoyed being in that old house on Robie street and how the living room was divided into segments and there was a little washroom right there with all kinds of neat womanly stuff inside. Your curly hair and ready laugh and wit definitely told me that you were a Sarty...and you looked at life through those worldly Sarty glasses of yours. Later on I would stop by with my Mum, Annette, and visit you. You, were her favourite Aunt. You had a special relationship with my Mum and I remember that we would receive Christmas presents from you when we were little for quite a few years. When Mum died, I knew it hit you very hard. But now you are reunited and that makes my heart just a bit lighter. I remember the oil painting...how you gave me a very nice gilded frame and after me for so long to give you a nice oil painting in it to return to her...eventually, you did receive your wish. I would like to think that you enjoyed looking at that painting of Florence Nightingale, because it was in my mother's bedroom for a few years. But when Mum died, I knew I had to give it to you...

My condolences to the Bollivar family. I first met Celia in 1978 when she was working with and I started with Cruikshanks Funeral Home. I did enjoy our conversations and working with her. As time past we lost touch but every time I drive down Robie Street it does bring back memories.

May I extend sincerest condolences to Celia's family; our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I first met Celia forty years ago when I came to Halifax as Chief Embalmer at Cruikshank's Halifax Funeral Home and Mattatall's Funeral Home, Dartmouth. Celia was the receptionist and her sister Anne worked in the business office alongside us. Over the years we had so many enlightening conversations on world and current events, shared awesome family stories and enjoyed so many a 'lunch-time' laugh. Ceila showed me how to do crypto quotes, and with thanks to her, I still do them proficiently today. It was truly an era of great camaraderie. When Celia retired, she gave me one of her small oil paintings she had painted, of a woman sitting on a rock in the ocean. She always said I had so helped hold things together at work and she often referred to me, as "her rock." Unfortunately, we lost contact a few years ago, but always maintained that special connection. We have been blessed with so many, many wonderful memories. Celia, "God's Speed and enjoy that wonderful reunion on the other side with our dear Anne, Ralph and all your family who have gone on before." The vibrant memories live on in the hearts and minds of us all. Rest In Peace Celia and God love ya!
