Obituary of Neil Greg MacNeil

MACNEIL, Neil Greg –  It is with heavy hearts we, his loving wife, Janet and two loving children, son, Shawn (Michelle) and three grandsons, Mason, Jared and Carter, all of Ottawa and daughter, Leighann, Ottawa, announce the passing of Greg on March 9, 2018.

Born in Glace Bay on September 6, 1946, he was the son of the late Neil and Mary (MacDonald).

After graduation from St. Michaels High School, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served his country proudly from 1965-2005.

He was predeceased by his loving God-mother, Chrisy Gouthro; brothers, Archibald and Daniel; sisters, Gloria and Ann.

He is survived by brothers; Doug (Mary) McNeil, Niagara Falls; John McNeil, Fort Erie; sister, Mary Lou (Vince) Browner, Glace Bay; special cousin, Rev. Neil (Linda) MacDonald.

Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Saint Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Bridgewater with a reception to follow at the parish hall. Father Jim MacDonald, OMI, officiating.

Interment will be held at a later date in Ottawa at the Beachwood Military Cemetery.
