Obituary of Herbert Leo Ritcey

Herbert "Herb" Leo Ritcey
82, Of Bridgewater, passed away May 8, 2008 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Middle LaHave, he was the son of the late Leo Edwin and Susie Amanda (Crouse) Ritcey. Prior to retirement, he was employed for many years with Acadia Construction. He was very active in the Lunenburg County Seniors Club; he was a member of Session of the Bridgewater United Church, The friendship Group, the Happy Gang, and the Thursday Evening Bible Study Group of the United Church. Surviving are, sister in-law Joyce Carolyn (Smith) Tinkham, Yarmouth, step –daughter, Donna Saulnier, Scarborough, ON; step son, Malcolm (Mary-Lou) Purdy, Stratford, ON; step-grandchildren, Craig Saulnier, Michael Dawson, both of Toronto; Shannon (Mark) VanDooren, Hamilton, ON; Sara Purdy, Hamilton, ON; William Blake, Fredericton; step great grandchildren, Mikayla, and Logan VanDooren, Hamilton; Summer Blake, Fredericton. Nieces, Eleanor (Sam) Walters, St. John’s, Nfld; Linda (Brian) Hooper, Bridgewater; nephew, Darryl (Ruth) Cook, Bridgewater, and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Olive Myla(Smith) Ritcey, sister, Bernis Mae (Wilfred) Lohnes. A memorial service 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Bridgewater United Church. Rev. Ivan Norton officiating.A reception to follow. Private interment in Middle LaHave Cemetery, Middle LaHave. Donations may be made to Bridgewater United Church.
