Obituary of Verna Blanche Robar

of Verna Blanche Robar 92 of New Germany, passed away March 8, 2008 in the Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany. Born in North River, Lunenburg County, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family and a daughter to the late Howard and Lydia (Daniels) Acker. She worked for many years at the Rail Road Restaurant, Eisnors Restaurant and the V & V Canteen. Verna was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the E.L.W. She is survived by he daughter Ferne (Gardner) Carver, Bridgewater; Son Gerald (Loretta) Robar, Chelsea; grandchildren Brian (Ann), Virginia; Valerie, Calgary; Julie (Brad), Bradford Ontario; step grandchildren Deborah and Jeffery Lohnes; Great grandchildren Stephanie & Andrew Carver, Halifax; Jamie and Timothy; many nieces and nephews. Verna was predeceased by her husband Leon; brothers Ray and Max. Visitation will be held Monday from 7 to 9PM in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. A memorial service will be held at 11AM Tuesday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Rev. Paul Jensen officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Family flowers only, please. Memorial donations in Verna’s memory may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the Rosedale Home for Special Care in New Germany.
