RHODENIZER, Barbara Mae – Age 85, Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Lake Pleasant, she was a daughter of the late Burpee and Elsie (Allen) Mailman.

She was kind, loving and wise with a strong will and strong faith. She and Stuart raised their family in Shelburne and continued in Bridgewater. Along-side her husband, they owned and operated three businesses during their working years, dry-cleaning plants in Bridgewater and Shelburne and the Skyvue Drive-In, West Northfield, where she continued to make the loose hamburger over fries famous. After their working days, they spent twenty great summers with their friends at the camp on Welshtown Lake in Shelburne. Family was the most important part in Barbara’s life; whether it was long conversation with her sister Fran or other family and friends or listening to her granddaughter Brianna, playing music. Barbara loved to talk. She was a long-time member of the former Eastern Star as well as a member of Bridgewater United Church where she worked with the ladies auxiliary; as well, Barbara was a founding member of the Shelburne Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Barbara was a master crib player, always looking forward to the Saturday night games.

Surviving are her husband, Raymond Stuart; daughter, Pamela Jane Rhodenizer (Mark Nelson), Dayspring; son, Raymond Steven (Milanna) Rhodenizer; Northfield; brother, Mervyn (Lilly) Mailman, Springfield; grandchildren who were a source of great joy to her, Nathaniel and Brianna; sister-in-law, Eunice Mailman and many nieces and nephews.
