Obituary of Harvey Frederick Silver

of Harvey Frederick Silver 72, Of Springfield, Annapolis Co., passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2008 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Springfield, he was a son of the late Wesley and Florence (Wile) Silver. Prior to retirement, Harvey was employed with Michelin Tires, Bridgewater, for 20 years. He was a deacon and trustee of Springfield United Baptist Church, Springfield. Harvey built a saw mill in 1982 where he spent many hours milling and in 1986 decided to mill the lumber and build the Springfield store. He found much enjoyment camping with his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Mona Dianne (Holland) Silver; daughter, Michelle (Jerome) Richard, New Germany; son, Neil (Terese) Silver, Bridgewater; grandchildren, Brittney and Brandon Richard, New Germany; sister, Betty (Max) Engler, Dartmouth; brother, Gordon (Terry), New Minas; sister in law, Carolyn Silver, New Germany; brother in law, Donald Pernette, West LaHave; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Elmeda Pernette; brother, Fredie Silver and in infancy Chipman Silver; granddaughter, Olivia Anne Silver in infancy. There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request. Service 11 a.m. Monday, in Springfield United Baptist Church. Rev. Robert Gates, assisted by Rev. Hayward Baker, officiating. Private family burial to follow and everyone is welcome to attend a reception immediately following the service. Donations may be made to Springfield United Baptist Church, IWK Children’s Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice.
