Obituary of Eva Marie Martha White
WHITE, Eva Marie Martha – Age 81 of Bridgewater, passed away on January 23, 2019 at home. Born in St. Bernard, Digby County, she was a daughter of the late Pierre and Lucie (Gaudet) Dugas.
Today our family was dealt a sad blow. We lost our much loved wife, mother and grandmere, Eva White. She was the amazing little Acadian Spitfire we all new and loved. Throughout life her spirit touched so many and her constant outpouring of love was experienced by all who crossed her path. She was married to Gordon the love of her life for 55 years. She spent her life involved whole heartedly with her family and getting involved with many volunteer organizations like Catholic Women’s League, The Red Hatters, working in soup kitchens and Meals on Wheels just to name a few. Later in life she “finally” (as she would have put it) was able to enjoy time with her two grandsons, Joey and Jackson. She loved them and was so over the moon to “finally” be a grandmother.
Eva had been sick for awhile but never stopped caring or wanting to do things. Her final wishes were fulfilled. First by having grandchildren and second by being able to spend time with her daughter, Michelle who had been deployed with UN Peacekeeping Forces in Africa with the Canadian Forces. The family would like to thank Dr. Craig Fegusion, Dr. Debora Gowan and all the health care and first responder personnel that were involved in her care at the end. Eva, Mom, grandmere you will be so missed and nobody’s pickled beets will ever taste as good as yours.
Eva is survived by her husband, Gordon; son, Daniel & spouse Shari and Shari’s daughter, Emily; daughter, Michelle & spouse Jeff; her brother, Neil; and many nieces nephews and friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Rosella.
