Obituary of Charles Sperry

of Charles"Edwin" Sperry It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Edwin Sperry, 61, of Petite Riviere. Edwin loved his family and the community, and took special pride in walks on his land to look at nature and the beauty around him. In earlier years he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and in later years he took pleasure in watching the wildlife around his home. He was an avid woodsman and his pride and joy was his cabin which he built himself. Edwin, along with his wife, was owner/operator of C. Edwin Sperry Electrical Limited for over 30 years and met many people who came to trust in him for his expertise and fine skills. If you needed something done, no matter what he was right there. Edwin was a long time member of the Petite Riviere Fire Department, where he was once Fire Chief, and was often viewed as a mentor to others. He was also a trustee of the Wesley United Church. Edwin will be dearly missed by his wife Lynn (Hubley), and his two children that he loved and was so proud of: daughter Nicole Dawn (Darcy) Frampton and son Ryan Neil. He is also survived by his brother Allen (Janice) Sperry, Hebbville; sisters, Sheila (Sonny) Publicover, West LaHave; Elaine (Terry) Skinner, Owen Sound, Ontario; and Lila (Don) Porter, Port Williams; Sister and Brother in law Brenda and Arnold Conrad, Wentzells Lake, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by infant daughter Tanya Lynn; parents Maxwell and Marjorie Sperry; half brother Donald MacPherson. Edwin's remains have been entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. No visitation by request of the family. A service to remember Edwin's life will be held at Wesley United Church, Petite Riviere on Friday August 29th, 2008 at 3pm with Rev Vivian Moores presiding, assisted by Rev Ron Frampton. Interment will follow in Wesley United Cemetery, Petite Riviere. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to Petite Riviere Volunteer Fire Dept or Wesley United Church, Petite Riviere. Online condolences may be made through www.sweenysfuneralhome.com. A reception will follow at Petite Riviere Fire Hall.
