It is with great sadness the family of Joyce Audrey Maxine Spidle announce her passing on Monday, August 25, 2008 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, where she was surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Parkdale, on November 17, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Richmond and Angie Rafuse. Joyce will be remembered for her loyalty and commitment to her church and her God as well as her community, where she lived her entire lifetime. Joyce was generous and gave her time freely to people in need. Surviving are her daughters, Judith (Peter), Caledonia; Kathy (John), Mount Pleasant; sons, Brian (Christine), Philip (Kim), all of Scarsdale; Gordon (Sherry), Bridgewater. Grandchildren, Amanda, Adam (Candace), Tyler, Hiliary, Hannah. Brothers, Hollis (Marguerite), Pinehurst; John (Rosemary), New Germany; sisters, Ardith Langille, Evangeline (John) MacLeod; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Doran. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Join us for a celebration of Joyce’s life at 2 p.m. Thursday, in Parkdale – Maplewood Emmanuel United Baptist Church, Rev. Norman Hovland officiating. Private family interment will follow in Parkdale Community Cemetery, Parkdale. Flowers accepted, donations may be made to Parkdale – Maplewood United Baptist Church or charity of Choice.
