Obituary of Sonny Nauss
2019-03-30 NAUSS, Sonny (Ellison) Leo of Farmington, left this earth surrounded by the love of his dearest family, guiding him onto his next journey. He will be remembered for his vivacious love and acceptance for all, his kindness and generosity, his extreme love of the arts, his green thumb, his impeccable palate for fine food and drink and for his ability to impart wisdom. When he looked at you, he truly saw you. For most of his life, he spent his time putting beauty into the world, spending his final years enjoying a life filled with friends, bonfires, gardening and music. He will be irreplaceable.
His passing will be most heartfelt by his best friend and soul mate Cathy Holden (David). He is also leaving behind his “daughters” Vanessa Bolivar (Cory) and Anna Crosby (Greg), who he took under his wings and surrounding them with unconditional love, roots and impeccably honest advice. His youngest brother Edward Nauss and wife Vicki will continue the family torch in his honour.
Known as “Uncle Sonny” by the myriad of kin that he treated as his own, he curated a very special chosen and bio family. He is survived by brothers, David Pineo, Auburn; Milton Pineo, Berwick; nephews, Justin Nauss, Cornwall; Jeffrey Nauss, Branch Lahave; Matthew Hubley, Halifax; Adam Holden, Hemford; Troy Jesso, Farmington; James Jesso, Farmington; Stephen Jesso, Farmington; Ryan Robar, Bridgewater; nieces Jennifer Jesso, Farmington; Breanne Fancy, the world; Vanessa Holden, Hemford; Hailey Holden, Hemford; Elizabeth Ernst, Halifax; Melissa Robar, Upper LaHave; great nephews, Rowan Bolivar & Ethan Bolivar, Camperdown; Hayden Ellison Crosby, Petawawa; Declan Hubley, Halifax and great niece, Bella Crosby, Petawawa.
Sonny is predeceased by the love of his life Christopher, his parents Mervyn and Anna Marion (McNally); brothers, Benjamin, Andrew and John; sisters, Donna and Laura.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-3 p.m., on Wednesday, April 3 in Barss Corner Community Center, Barss Corner. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
