Obituary of Ivan Leroy Veinot

VEINOT, Ivan Leroy – Age 79, Watford, Lunenburg Co, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Goldie Jean (Veinot) Hall.

 

In Ivan’s earlier teen years he started working for Zwicker’s Box Factory in Pinehurst; he then moved to Halifax area and worked at Sunnyside, Bedford, Sobeys in Halifax and Imperial Oil in Dartmouth. He then took a position with Imperial Oil whereby he managed their vehicle wash-bay businesses in St. John, Moncton and Fredericton for many years. When Imperial Oil decided to divest of this branch of the business, Ivan purchased the Fredericton location and became self employed in the car washing business for many years. After selling the business in the early 80’s, Ivan moved back home where he worked for Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital and later at South Shore Regional Hospital with the Environmental Services department until he retired. Ivan is survived by his brother, Michael Hall, Watford and several cousins.

 

Besides his mother, he was predeceased by his step father, Robert Hall as well as several aunts and uncles.

 

No visitation at the funeral home by request. A public graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, in the Old Upper Northfield Cemetery, Upper Northfield with Rev. Adam Snook officiating. Family flowers only please, donations may be made to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Nova Scotia Lung Association or charity of choice. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany.
