Obituary of James Carl Harquail

HARQUAIL, James Carl – Age 84, New Germany, Lunenburg Co. It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater on Sunday, May 19, 2019 after a brief illness.

He was a son of the late James and Laura Harquail. He was a long serving member of the Canadian Armed Forces, the Royal Canadian Legion and Lake Pleasant Campers Club.

Surviving are his four loving children, Cindy, Brenda (Larry), Jimmy (Paula), Michael (Debbie); sister, Lucy (Paul) Gilbert; sister-in-law, Rollie; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and his feathered baby, Cassie who was a great companion.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Maralyn Gloria (Marriott) Harquail of 59 years; brother, Lou and sister, Gladys.

Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 highway 10, New Germany. A private family service will take place at a later date in St. John’s Cemetery, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the IWK Children’s Hospital.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jim and Joanne, Sheldon and Janette for their extraordinary help and moral support; also thanks to the staff of South Shore Regional Hospital.
