Janice and I started our careers together at the Mount back in 1989. We shared a huge office together in the archives of the old library in Evaristus before the renovation of the north wing. I have many fond memories of those early days. She was, I think, one of the smartest people I ever met. Others have commented on her warmth and kindness, and I echo that. She was always so warm, witty and positive. Rest well, my friend!

I Have many warm thoughts of Janice, as it was my priviledge to care for her for some time at Ryan Hall. She was a wonderful person, who shed light into the room, in spite of her own difficulties. My sincere condolences to her family, and to Dave.
She will live on in her work, and in the hearts of all who knew her.

I was so sad to learn that Janice had died and am full of regret for letting years past without real contact believing in the false sense that there would be time. A planned trip to Halifax this summer with Patti Collins was going to make that happen.
Memories of Janice go back almost 40 decades but they are all full of her warmth and brilliance and the best sense of humour of anyone ever. Most importantly, Janice was kind. And if someone can be sharp and gentle at the same time, that was Janice. And. She introduced me to Janis Joplin’s music in 1973 so there can’t be a better memory than that. Heartfelt condolences to the family and to those who loved her. She was truly special.

I have fond memories of playing with Janice and Susan in Liverpool and visiting the family in Fredericton. We spent hours role playing our favourite characters from books and TV, exploring, biking, Sherbrooke Lake Camp and discovering our world. We gave each other nicknames - mine has stuck to this day. I was fortunate enough to be employed by Dr. Doull in the early 90’s for one summer at the Mount. Her kindness and humour left a lasting impression on me. I am saddened to hear of her passing.
